Madison County Football Playoffs: Regional Semifinal Action

After two weeks of playing in the comfort of their own stadiums, both London and West Jefferson head off to take on strong opponents at neutral cites.

LONDON and GRANVILLE – 7pm Friday at Hamilton Township High School

On Friday, the Red Raider (10-2) will meet up with the undefeated Blue Aces (11-0). You can listen to this game live thru great coverage by our friends at ReadyFM (105.1).

Last week, London had a thrilling 24-17 win over Bishop Hartley as Red Raider Antwaun Burns scored his final of three touchdowns with just 20 seconds remaining in the home contest. The running of Burns, Ayden Cooper, and Dylan Combs paced London. Once the again, the LHS defense stepped up to subdue a potent running team

The London defense will face another tough ground game against Granville (19-12 winners over DeSales last week). Blue Aces running back Devon Haley has covered 469 yards with four touchdowns in Granville’s two playoff wins. Despite losing star QB Carsyn Crouch, back-up Tyler Ernsberger had a pair of TD passes last week.

WEST JEFFERSON and FAIRLAND (Proctorville) – 7pm Saturday at Chillicothe’s Herrnstein Field

On Saturday, the Roughriders (11-1) will face the Dragons (11-1). You can listen to this game live thru great coverage by our friends at ReadyFM (105.1).

West Jefferson had their second straight playoff blowout as they took care of visiting Northmor 63-13 as Hayden Salyer led a strong running game and Tyler Buescher accumulated 270 yards through the air. Defensively, the Roughriders frustrated a typically-strong Northmor run game.

Fairland racked up a plethora of points as well last week, defeating Worthington Christian 58-28. The Dragons were led by quarterback Peyton Jackson who threw for five touchdowns. Receiver Zander Schmidt was the beneficiary of two of those scoring passes. Schmidt also led the defense with a pick-six.
