Madison County Football Playoffs: Next Round

STOP THE RUN!

That will be the point of emphasis (hence the capital letters) this weekend for both Madison County teams as they participate in the second round of the playoffs.

BISHOP HARTLEY at LONDON – 7pm Friday

On Friday, the Red Raider (9-2) will host the Hawks (9-2). You can listen to this game live thru great coverage by our friends at ReadyFM (105.1).

Last week, London blanked Zanesville 17-0 behind the running of Antwaun Burns and Noah Sollars, kicking of Ryan Fullmer, timely throws from quarterback Dylan Combs, two interceptions by Ayden Cooper, and a stout defensive line.

Hartley defeated Miami Trace 56-14. Their running game racked up 340 yards and eight touchdowns. The leader was Nyal Johnson who ran the ball just six times, but covered 130 yards and reached the end zone three times.

NORTHMOR (Galion) at WEST JEFFERSON – 7pm Saturday

On Saturday, the Roughriders (10-1) will host the Golden Knights (9-2). You can listen to this game live thru great coverage by our friends at ReadyFM (105.1).

West Jefferson pounded Valley (Lucasville) 43-14 last week. MJ Book started the game in style with an early scoop and score. Book would end the scoring with a TD pass thrown by Tyler Buescher. Impressive touchdown catches and runs by Adam Fry and Ethan Hostetler helped Buescher throw for four scores on the night.

Northmor is coming off a solid 28-14 win over Fredericktown. Running back Max Lower ran for 205 yards and three scores to lead the Golden Knights. QB Marcus Cortez completed just two passes, but one was a 74-yard TD throw.
