COLUMBUS – A home away from home.
Due to field conditions, Eastmoor Academy has to hold its ‘home’ playoff game against Jonathan Alder six miles down the road at Mifflin High School.
It did not seem to matter as the host Warriors seemingly felt right at home in their temporary surroundings as they defeated the visiting Pioneers 35-7 Friday.
Eastmoor was led by quarterback Devin Long and running back Ahmad Armstrong.
A scoreless first quarter featured a lot of defense as a light rain made the gridiron a little slippery. The Warriors had an interception and Alder had a fourth down stand in the stanza.
Eastmoor tallied twice in the second quarter to take a 14-0 lead at the break. Both Lloyd and Armstrong had short touchdown runs.
In the third it was the Eastmoor combo again. First Lloyd launched a 40 yard touchdown pass, and the Armstrong outran the field for a 50 yard TD scamper.
Alder got on the board with a one yard Cam Jewell scoring run. The Warriors added one more touchdown run to reach the final score.
