Information by Ed LeGault

A total team effort.

Those words are often used to describe sporting events when a squad exhibits a decisive victory on their chosen field of play.

The Cedarville High School football team demonstrated a textbook example of that as they had nine players in the scoring column in a 48-14 victory at Madison-Plains Friday to conclude the regular season.

The visiting Indians got out to a 13-0 lead in the first quarter, first with a 14 yard run by Jackson Howdyshell and the a 40 yard fumble return by Jackson Pyles.

The Golden Eagles got on the board in the second quarter as Evan Coil connected with Peyton Smith on a 13 yard touchdown pass/catch. Gavin Kaminski added the extra point.

Cedarville tallied a pair of touchdowns before halftime. First by air as Indian QB Max Pollander throws a five yard TD pass to Tyler Cross. Then, Cedarville runs it in from three yards out with just 49 seconds remaining in the half to give the visitors a 27-7 lead at the break.

In the third quarter, it was Cedarville’s Pollander again through the air as he connected for a 60 yard touchdown strike to Josh Flora.

The fourth quarter started with the Indian defense as Cedarville’s Jackson Miller ran in to the end zone 35 yards after intercepting a Madison-Plains pass to complete the pick-six.

As time was winding down in the game, Golden Eagle Tyson Guiette went in from two yards out with just 21 seconds remaining in the contest.

Cedarville got the last word in as Masin Bowen ended the game with an 85-yard kickoff return.
