“That Thing You Do” was released October 4, 1996 by 20th Century Fox Studios. The film was produced by the team of Gary Goetzman (Philadelphia), Jonathan Demme (Married to the Mob) and Edward Saxon (Silence of the Lambs). It was directed by Tom Hanks. Costume design by Colleen Atwood, and cinematography by Tak Fugimoto. The budget for this film was 26 million and it brought in over 34 million at the box office.
