West Jefferson High Schoolers welcome Amazon workers

The West Jefferson High School Band were joined by a number of West Jefferson High School Cheerleaders to help celebrate the First Shift ever at the new Amazon Distribution Center on State Route 40.

 

“The students were at school at 6am on Sunday Morning and performed from 7:45am until 8:15am,” said West Jefferson High School Band Director Elmer Broecker. “All new employees were welcomed to the plant by HR committee and supervisors.”

 

Amazon’s newest facility was to bring an additional 1,500 jobs to the area, according to . . .
