Roll out the (Beer) Barrel — its Opening Day

Story and photos by Susan Sajdyk

The highly-anticipated Dublin location (on the outskirts of Plain City) of Beer Barrel Pizza & Grill opened September 17 and did not disappoint.  Located in the Dublin Green Shopping Center at Route 161 and Cosgray Rd., this over 10,000 square foot facility should be a welcome addition for dining options in Plain City, Dublin, and surrounding areas.

This family-owned company originated in Lima, Ohio, and the Dublin location is its eighth establishment.  According to co-owner Tony Heaphy, the family strives for variety and value when it comes to their business.  All items on the menu are made from scratch, and there are many choices that should satisfy all palates including gluten free and some vegetarian options.  The restaurant can serve large groups as well as a banquet room that can be requested.  An outdoor patio and carry out option will also be available for convenience.

And let’s not forget about the beer in the name “Beer Barrel.”  The menu features crafts, classics, mixed drafts, flights, and bottles.  Happy Hour is Monday-Friday from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.   A newer concept to this chain, The Bourbon Barrel Room, will offer over 100 whiskeys, ryes, and scotches.  There will also be tastings offered throughout the year.

Beer Barrel offers an email listing and a Good Food card loyalty program which offer discounts and promotions which should be worth looking into.

Hour of Operation for Beer Barrel Pizza & Grill are:

Monday-Thursday 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. (bar until 12:00 a.m.)
